I accidentally ran across this verse earlier this week and it seemed to jump off the page. This is such a paradox that it seemed incomprehensible! But then I found the ERV translation: “God saves those who suffer by using their suffering. He uses their troubles to speak in a way that makes them listen.” Already I have shared this with three people who are at three totally different intersections, yet this verse impacted each one of them deeply. One said “That is so encouraging!” Another said, “I REALLY needed to hear that!” Another said, “Yes, I will make time tonight for us to pray together about that.” How wonderful that when we offer ourselves to be used to meet these challenges, that God equips and empowers us with whatever we need to meet people where they are!
