My neighbors brother has been going through some rough times. He stays at our neighbors house often as he doesn’t have a concrete place to stay and has lost his job. The last few days his car had been acting up and he was perplexed as to why. He doesn’t have much mechanical knowledge, a learning disability and is in active recovery from substance use disorder. He didn’t have the money to fix it. My husband went next door and helped him. Turns out, he’d just ran out of gas. He was very embarrassed but gracious and he’s always very kind. I knew he most likely didn’t have the money to get any gas, much less a gas can to walk to gas station and fill it up. I took our gas can and quietly drove and got him some gas and brought it back. I sat it beside his car and left a note that just said, “fill up” and a smiley face. He brought our gas can back because he knew it was me and was tearful saying thank you. He said he was able to go do a side job for some extra money with that gas. I felt God was leading me that gas station when I saw how embarrassed he was for the car just running out and he had no idea what was wrong with it for days. God speaks. If you’re quiet enough and really listen!
