I felt it appropriate to share this story on Mother’s Day. My mother has been my rock my whole life. Even through my stubbornness, ignorance and arrogance - even when I didn’t fully appreciate it. I’ve had a difficult couple of years and after I saw this challenge, I prayed. As the Holy Spirit filled me I felt it was time to renew and replenish my relationship with my mother. She does not live near Louisville but she’s started streaming Southeasts sermons. Her church doesn’t do streaming in her small town. She’s missed a lot of church due to still being leery of Covid due to her age. (I laugh because at 66, she’s in better shape than most 30-40 year olds!) Anyway, her and I began renewing our bond and today, on Mother’s Day, my son and I are driving to meet her and my stepfather at Rough River Dam for a picnic, basketball and a doggie play date with our pets. There’s no one like your mother. God knew what he was doing when he created a mothers role. And with lots of prayer, humility and Gods grace, we were able to come together more honestly with pride thrown away. It is going to be a beautiful day to have a picnic in the natural beauty of Gods environment and all he’s provided us. Thank you, Lord, there’s nothing without you.
