One at a Time

I have a friend who shared some family issues and I tried to encourage her and we prayed together. She told me the next day for the second time that she so appreciated it. God is awesome, because even though the situation has not changed she felt comforted, by the Lord. I am really bad at asking for help, because I ask the Lord when I am struggling. There has been times when I have asked friends to pray for me due to medical issues or I feel overwhelmed. God is always gracious to give me His peace.

This week's challenge may seem a little counterintuitive at first, but it is inspired by Galatians 6:2. This verse states, "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." So this week, ask someone to share one of your burdens or struggles that you are going through. This might mean asking for help or just having that person be in prayer with you regarding this burden. By humbling yourself and sharing with vulnerability, you will have opened a door so this person feels comfortable and willing to share their burdens with you in the future and you will have the opportunity to love them one at a time.
