My father recently passed. We were never close. There were some things he did that traumatized me to this day. He never accepted me as his child. I was the “mistake” as his family likes to put it. On his deathbed I forgave him.I asked God to forgive me for holding so much hate inside for all these years. I am on a journey of healing now. Is it easy? No. I forgave my father for me. I forgave my father so I would not block my blessings . I forgave my father because my Father has forgiven me time and time again.

That was an incredibly brave moment for you. I can personally relate to hanging on to so much hate that it starts to wear you down. It’s hard to forgive someone for the hurt they have caused that we can still feel years later. I’m happy for you. God loves you and will never leave you, our Heavenly Father who forgives us for so much. Thank you for sharing your story and stay strong in your faith. ♥️

Hi Lisa, I appreciate you telling your personal story of letting go. To be hurt by a family member is so hard. I loved the way you were able to forgive because God as Father forgives all of us too. That demonstrates that God and your faith in Him is bigger than your pain. When we know God that way it frees us to love rather than live in fear or hate. “We love because He first loved us”. Thank you for sharing what you have been through! It helps me to feel less alone! God’s blessings to you!
