For many of us, popularity and possessions become what we pursue most in our lives. Christ is no longer the priority. Your circle of priorities can't hold too much stuff, so you need to start with Jesus. If you do, he will enlarge your circle as he sees fit because he's a good father, who likes to give good gifts to his children. But when you place him in your circle, you'll find that there may be some things that can no longer fit there. You have to prune the good to make room for the best. Is there room for Christ in your current circle?
Every one of us will have a moment when you're going to exit this world, either you'll take your last breath or Christ will return, but in that moment, it will be too late to put Jesus in your circle. For too many of us, we have Jesus in a storage unit instead of in our circle. So why not make the decision to seek the kingdom of God first and to put Christ in the center? Choose Jesus, repent of your sins, and humble yourself. So amidst the clutter of our lives, let’s all look at our own lives, perspectives, and priorities, and ensure that Jesus comes before all else.
DISCUSSION/REFLECTION QUESTION: What area of life do you struggle most with putting Jesus first in? What is taking his place? What are some actionable steps you can take to reprioritize today?
